Funeral services for the late Mr. Johnny Carmichael will be held on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. Stephens Baptist Church in Branchville, South Carolina. Interment services will follow immediately at Peter Bowman Cemetery in Branchville, South Carolina. Rev. Calvin Brown will officiate. Viewing for the public will be held on Sunday from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm at the funeral home located in Orangeburg. Mr. Johnny Carmichael was born August 5, 1942 in Rowesville, SC to the late Frank Carmichael, Sr. and Idella Abraham Carmichael. He departed this earthly life on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, SC after an extended illness. Bill, as he was affectionately called, was well known in the Branchville community. He loved hunting. Bill was educated in the public schools in Branchville, SC, where he last attended Lockett High. After school, Bill moved to New York where he worked for Arrow Beverages. He moved back to his hometown of Branchville and worked many years at Utica Tools, Cox Wood Preserving, and Council Lumber. He married the former Mamie Phillips on November 30, 1968. This union was blessed with two beautiful children. Bill was preceded in death by his siblings, Frank, Henry, David, Minnie, John, Ida,and Ann; a grandson, JaKobe A. Mack and other relatives. He leaves to treasure his memories: wife, Mamie P. Carmichael, Orangeburg, SC, daughter, Linda (Hubert) Mack, Cordova, SC; son, JaKendall C. Carmichael, Orangeburg, SC; granddaughter, Saniya I. Mack, Cordova, SC; brother, Richard (Annie Lou) Carmichael, Orangeburg, SC; sisters-in-law, Lillie Mae Carmichael, Far Rockaway, NY; Betty Carmichael, Tifton, GA, Lucille Eisom and Jessie L. Buskey, both of Branchville, SC, and Bernice Washington, Orangeburg, SC; Brothers-in-law: Benjamin Phillips, Jr, Brooklyn, NY; Frank Phillips and Ruben Phillips, both of Branchville, SC; and Floyd Salley, Inwood, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
