Funeral services for the late Mr. Joseph Glover will be held on Monday, April 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Butler Chapel A.M.E. Church, Orangeburg, South Carolina. The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Interment services will follow immediateley in the church cemetery. Joseph Glover departed this earthly life peacefully on April 11, 2012. The son of Joseph E. Glover and Wilhelmina Dingle he was born on April 30, 1933 in Orangeburg County, Orangeburg, S.C. Affectionately known as "Joe" he was reared in Orangeburg County by his adoptive parents Caleb and Ruth J. Butler. Joe was educated in the schools of Orangeburg formerly Riverside, Sharperson, and Wilkinson. Joe was an electrician by trade, learning this skill under his uncle Saul Glover, and he worked as an electrician until retirement. Joe met Thelma Whetstone of Jamison, S.C. they were Wed on December 21, 1958 and to this union they were blessed with six children. Joe was a man of God and he served faithfully in his church, Butler Chapel A.M.E., until his health failed. Serving as church treasurer, class leader and singing on the male chorus. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Wilhelmina Dingle and Joseph Glover, Caleb and Ruth Butler, and eldest daughter Olivia G. Edmonds. He now leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife of almost 54 years, Thelma W. Glover, children: JoHanna L. Glover, Lecia (Eric) Bonaparte, Caleb Glover (Daluphia Donaldson), Joseph (Karla) Glover, Dannie Abraham, all of Orangeburg, S.C. and Brunson W. Glover of Hanover, MD. He also leaves a special god-daughter Delcine Summers, Vernita Butler Snead, two brothers Darryl (Melissa) Glover, David Glover, and sister Vanessa Glover. Sister in Laws: Willie L. Cousin Sara Funderburk, Orangeburg, SC. Grandchildren: Erone (Paquita) Edmonds, Lawrence (Stephanie, Fiancée') Jones, Jr., Caleb Curry, Ulysses Edmonds, Gilbert M. Williams II, Quinton (Katrell) Jones, Brittany A. Edmonds, Robert J. Edmonds, Brunson S. Glover, Edward (Shakye) Charles, Shannon O. Glover, Tiara S. Glover, Joseph T. Glover II, Micah K. Glover, DeAndre' Robinson, Lonnisha Summers. Great grand-children: Lauren, Christopher, Jordan, Larkyn, Chandler, Madison, Ethan, Olivia, Lydia, Ayanna, Bryanna, Aedan, Ervin, Cherish, Danielle, Edward II, Noah, and a host of other loving family members and friends.
