Larry Alonza Johnson, Sr. was born June 20, 1969 to Alonza and Anna Dunbar Johnson. He

grew up in the rural area of Barnwell County. He spent his early educational years in the Williston, South

Carolina school system, then transferred to the Blackville, South Carolina school system when his parents

moved.

After graduation, he enlisted and served his country with pride, dignity, valor and patriotism

in the U. S. Army and was deployed to Iraq, Germany, North Korea, and Kuwait as a decorated Sergeant.

After enlisting, he married Loretta Joyner. This union was blessed with three children, Monquita Elise,

Quinten Kentrell and Larry, Jr.

"Bubba" or "Butter Bean", as he was affectionately known, was a friend to all. He attended Frost

Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Blackville, South Carolina. He worked in various industries after

leaving the military, but found much joy in maintenance work at Wood's Shoe Shop. Larry will be greatly

missed.

He leaves to cherish fond memories: his loving wife, Loretta J. Johnson; one daughter, Monquita

E. (Dominic) Joyner; two sons, Quinten K. (Herquanda) Johnson and Larry (Nicole) Johnson, Jr.; his parents,

Alonza Johnson and Anna D. Johnson; two sisters, Sarah L. Johnson and Sondra D. Livingston; ten

grandchildren, Neveah Joyner, Maryah Johnson, Llondyn Johnson, Quinten Johnson, Jr., Heaven Martin,

Alexander Joyner, Braylen Bell, Kalvin Peeples, Jr., Quavon Johnson and Neveah Elam; two sisters-in-law,

Evette Joyner and Pamela Joyner; six aunts, Lizzie M. Wise, Annie M. (Holman) Williams, Eloise (Samuel)

Dunbar and Edna L. Dunbar, Mattie Jean Gadsen and Bettie Jean Johnson; four uncles, Daniel (Essie)

Dunbar, Sr., Eddie L. (Brenda) Dunbar and General M. (Valerie) Dunbar and Henry Johnson; two nieces,

Meagan Livingston and Jennifer Taylor as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
