Laurie Ann Folk was born on June 25, 1962 in Bamberg, South Carolina to the late Johnny Folks, Sr. and Evelyn
Folks. Laurie entered eternal rest at home on September 7,
2021.
Laurie was educated in the Bamberg School System in
Bamberg, South Carolina. She graduated with the class of
1980. Laurie attended Benedict College and Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College where she majored in nursing.
At a young age, Laurie joined and attended "old" Sidney
Park Church in Bamberg, South Carolina. As the years went
by she raised her daughter in the church and attended services
religiously with her mother.
Inspite of Laurie's downfalls, she loved the Lord and the
Lord loved her. She took to heart, "For God so loved the world
that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall
not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16 NIV She received
Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
Laurie was preceded in death by three brothers, James Folk,
Kenneth Folk and Kevin Folk.
Survivors include: her only child, a daughter, LaToya Folk
of Cordova, SC; three grandchildren, Terel Wright, LaTavia
Folk and LaTrell Brown; two brothers, Johnny Folk Jr. of
Wilmington, DE and Ricky Folk of Blythewood, SC; two
sisters-in-law, Valerie Folk and Shaunie Folk.; two special
aunts, Hattie L. Folks and Ronda Frazier; and a host of nieces,
nephews, other relatives, and friends.
