Mr. Lawrence Larry Byrd, affectionately known as "Lollipop", was born on June 1, 1955 in Orangeburg County, to the late Geneva House Byrd and Ernest Byrd, Sr.

He departed his earthly life in the comfort of his home on Saturday, December 8, 2018.

Larry was a faithful and dedicated employee of South Carolina Electric & Gas serving as a troubleshooting mechanic and retired after 39 years of service.

During his spare time, he enjoyed the challenges of TROUBLESHOOTING VEHICLE engines to the point of being considered the "neighborhood mechanic".

He shared his love for cooking by fishing and feeding the entire neighborhood.  He was known for cooking a big pot of beans seasoned with a piece of pork or smoked meat.

larry is preceded in death by one nephew, Theodore Oliver Mack.

He is survived by those who will cherish his fond memories  a son, Lawrence Larry Byrd Jr. and his fiance' Sommers Woods; three grandchildren, Daejia Janae' Byrd, Ja'niya Dezire Byrd and Lawrence Tavon Zion Byrd; two brothers, Ernest (Dorie) Byrd, Jr. and Morris Willie Byrd; two nephews, Ernest Matthew Byrd and Barry White; one niece, Janiquia M. Small; a special friend, Debra Ann Williams and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
