Mrs. Lela E. Minus 93, was born on April 18, 1929 to the late
Simon and Mary Sept. She departed from this earthly home and
entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Pepper Hill
Nursing Facility in Aiken, South Carolina.
Lela received her education at Blackville Public Schools in
Blackville, South Carolina. Her work experience included a long
spanning career in both the textile and food service industries.
Lela, who was also affectionately known as "Neba", was joined in
marriage to the late Mr. Alonzo Minus, Jr.
She was a devoted member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. She
enjoyed worshipping and fellowshipping on Sundays until her
health started to decline. She was also a faithful choir member for
many years.
She was preceded in death by: her father and mother, Simon and
Mary Sept; husband, Alonzo Minus, Jr.; three sisters, Ana Bell Harley,
Alma Lee and Shirley Hutto; brother, Wallace Lee; daughter, Shirley
Elaine Taylor; step-daughter, Mary Donaldson and a son, John Isreal
Minus.
Lela leaves to cherish fond memories: two daughters, Sandra
Ingram and Mary (Hezekiah) Jenkins of Blackville, SC; one step�daughter, Lucille Faust of Atlanta, GA; two Sons, Albert (Brenda)
Sept and Alonzo LeKeith Minus, III of Blackville, SC; sixteen grand�children; twenty-four great-grandchildren; one sister, Hattie Harley
of Aiken, SC; one son-in-law, Floyd Taylor of Blackville, SC; two
sisters-in-law, Pearline Lee of Blackville, SC and Fredrena Odom of
Denmark, SC; two special friends, Elizabeth Collins of Blackville, SC
and Kitty Bodiford of Myrtle Beach, SC; two "devoted daughters,"
Victoria Robinson of Aiken, SC and Mary Salley of Blackville, SC and
a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends that will
miss her dearly.
