Lelia Sampson Grayson was born on May 21, 1934 to the lated Mrs. Willie Mae Sanders and Mr. Washington Dowling and was reared by the late William Henry Sanders.  On Saturday, October 16, 2021, the Lord called her home to be with him.

She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and graduated from Macedonia High School in 1953.  In 1954, she was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Steab Johnnie Grayson.  This marriage was blessed with two beautiful daughters.

Lelia was preceded in death by one daughter, Sonya Calhoun; brothers, Ronnie Sanders, Dennis Sanders, William Sanders, Jr., Washington Dowling, Jr., Jimmy Dowling; sisters, Barbara Johnson, Angelia Fykes, Margaret Jones, Sheila Ash and Juanita Jackson.

She was employed by Blackville Manufacture, Wildwood Nursing Home and First Steps.

Cherishing Lelia's precious memories are a daughter, Lydia Grayson of Blackville, SC; a special grandson, Brint Grayson of Columbia, SC; sisters, Thomas Ann Sanders, Patricia (Carl) Logan and Elouise (William) Harley all of Blackville, SC, Marcell Sanders of Grand Rapids, MI, Joann Sanders of Atlanta, GA; Lilly Mae (Von Lee) Jones of Norway, SC; brothers, James Martin (Evonia) Sanders, Elverest (Julia) Sanders, Leslie (Earnestine) Dowling, John Lewis (Mardy) Dowling of Brooklyn, NY, Herbert (Jessie) Dowling; adopted daughter, Sybrenda (James0 Holiday; adopted granddaughter, Celina (Aron) Dobbs; a special caregiver, Mrs. Jessie Glover; special beautician, Ms. Betty Sanders and a host of grands, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
