Leroy Henry Elmore, lovingly known to many as a man of wisdom, strength, and style, entered eternal rest on May 23, 2026. Born on September 24, 1950, Leroy lived a life rooted in faith, family, hard work, and community service. From an early age, Leroy possessed a quiet strength and determination that shaped the man he would become. Growing up in Blackville, South Carolina, he developed a deep appreciation for family values, respect, and perseverance. Those who knew Leroy admired his calm demeanor, dependable spirit, and the wisdom he generously shared with everyone around him. A proud graduate of Macedonia High School Class of 1970, Leroy was widely recognized as a talented football player whose athletic ability and competitive drive earned the respect of teammates and opponents alike. Sports remained a lifelong passion, and he continued to enjoy playing softball in local leagues for many years. Whether on the field or cheering others on, Leroy's love for teamwork and fellowship was evident. Following graduation, Leroy dedicated years of faithful service to Savannah River Site, where he worked diligently until retirement. He believed in providing for his family and took pride in every responsibility entrusted to him. His strong work ethic and commitment left a lasting impression on coworkers and friends. Most importantly, Leroy was a devoted servant of God. As a faithful Deacon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, he served with humility, compassion, and unwavering faith. He loved the church and valued the importance of prayer, fellowship, and encouraging others in Christ. He later went on to serve as one of the Chairmen of the Deacon Board at Good Hope Baptist Church in Augusta, GA. Leroy was also a proud member of the NAACP and the Springfield Lodge Masons, organizations that reflected his commitment to community, brotherhood, and service. Leroy found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved cars and especially treasured his beloved 1956 Chevy, which he proudly raced at the track. Family and friends could always count on him to fire up the grill and prepare his famous barbecue, often joking that "if it wasn't his BBQ, it wasn't right." Gatherings with Leroy were filled with laughter, storytelling, wisdom, and unforgettable memories. More than anything, Leroy loved his family deeply. He was a proud father, brother, uncle, mentor, and friend. He enjoyed spending time with loved ones, offering guidance,

and making sure everyone around him felt cared for and encouraged. His presence brought comfort, and his words often carried lessons that family members will treasure forever. Leroy was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Elmore; mother, Mary Green Elmore Staley; stepfather, Jerome Staley; sister, Lutretta Leigh; brother, Wesley "Stevie" Elmore; and nephew, Lamont Corley. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his children, Tamisha Elmore and Leroy G. Elmore; bonus daughter, Taneshia Woods; and bonus grandson, Gavin Woods. He is also survived by his sisters, Ella Elmore, Shirley Henderson, and Retha (Hariel) Corley. All of Blackville, SC. Niece, Darcelle Elmore; nephews, Anthony (Valerie) Corley, and Wesley Tremaine Elmore; along with a host of other nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and dear friends. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to his devoted caretakers who supported Leroy over the years until his transition. Though Leroy has departed this earthly life, the legacy of his faith, wisdom, kindness, laughter, and unwavering love for family will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
