Sister Hamilton's life, as she knew it, was full and rewarding. Those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which we live.  She was such a great inspiration to all that she encountered.  Her strength gave us such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life.

She was born in Blackville, SC and attended Blackville-Hilda public school where she received a high school diploma and graduated Salutatorian of the class of 1974. She attended Spartanburg Methodist College for two years then transferred to Erskin College where she received a bachelor's degree in education.

Sister Hamilton was the fourth (4) of nine (9) siblings that God brought home to rest and be with him.  Her parents, the late Winchester and the late Lila Mae Milligan Smith preceded her in death and three siblings, Leroy Smith, Sr., Elizabeth Dicks, & Lorine Brown also preceded her in death.

Sister Hamilton leaves to cherish her memories a loving, faithful and devoted daughter and son-in-law, Lafaye Bias and Keith Bias, one grandson Anthony K. Bias: Brothers and sisters Miller Smith, Mary Davis (Thomas), Leila Haynes, Winchester Smith, Jr., James Smith: Two brother in Laws, Willie Dicks, Sr., and Carnell Brown. There are many nieces, nephews, cousins and a cherished friend, Mrs. Carrie Bell Priester, who will miss her dearly.

Our family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to all of those that shared such a very important part of Sister Hamilton's life journey over the course of her illness, especially, the Staff at Aiken Regional Hospital, US Renal Services of Barnwell, Alonjay Transportation, Local Motion and all the health care professionals who cared for her during her extended illness. We are eternally grateful to all the many relatives and friends that made the sacrifice to help make her life comfortable.
