Lester Owen Haye was born on February 14, 1927 in the district of Deeside, Trelawny, Jamaica West Indies, son of the late John Emmanuel and Esmina Haye. He attended public school in Deeside and then attended trade school to become a professional painter.

He later moved to the United States where he met the love of his life, Henrietta R. Milhouse. They married on May 1, 1954 and recently celebrated 71 years of marriage. Lester worked until he retired from Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA in the engineering department as a professional painter. Lester gave his life to Christ and later served faithfully as a Deacon at Morris Chapel Baptist Church in Philadelphia, PA. until he relocated to Bamberg, South Carolina. He joined Holy Temple C.O.G.I.C., Bamberg, SC and served faithfully as a Deacon and Superintendent of the Sunday School Class even in his late 90's until he physically was unable to serve.

Lester loved to praise God, attend church, and read his Bible. He also loved working in his garden, and he was always sharing the fruits of his labor with family, friends, and strangers. He demonstrated his love for his wife, Henrietta, his children, grands, great grands, and family members.

His brothers Clinton, Norman, Aston, Finnis, Fitzgerald, Peter, Rex, Joe, and Sister Milita proceeded him in death, and he has one surviving sibling Ena. Left to share his memories are, wife of 71 years, Henrietta R. Haye, Daughters Una Haye-Brown, Beryl Haye-Henry (Reynold), Sons Clifton Haye (Joyce), Anthony Haye, Daughter Evelyn Haye-Primus, (Early), Son David Haye (Michelle) and Son Phillip Haye (Ineka) Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Sister In-laws, Brother In-Laws, and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends,
