Funeral services for the late Leuvonia M. Donaldson will be held on Thursday, May 31,2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, Blackville, SC. The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Rev. Allen Keitt will officiate. Interment services will immediately follow at Hope Memorial Park Cemetery, Barnwell, South Carolina. Leuvonia Matheney Donaldson often referred to as "Champ", was born on August 5, 1945 in Barnwell County. She was the daughter of the late Linnie Matheney, Sr. and the late Minnie Gloster Matheney-Newton. She departed this life at Trinity Hospital in Augusta, GA on May 23, 2012. Leuvonia grew up in Blackville, South Carolina and joined Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church at an early age. She was a faithful member until her demise. She attended Macedonia School in Blackville and was employed at Meadowbrook Nursing home as a nurse's aide/laundry attendant for approximately 10 years until her health declined. Leuvonia devoted most of her time tending and caring for her grandchildren and friends. During her service at Pilgrim Rest she was a member of the "Sharing & Caring" Ministry and the Missionary Ministry. Leuvonia was an outgoing, compassionate, giving, and caring person. She always had a smile on her face. She loved her family, especially her children, siblings and aunts. Leuvonia was married to Arthur James Donaldson, who preceded her in death in 2010. Although Leuvonia will no longer be with us, she will always be remembered and loved by her family, friends and other acquaintances. She was also preceded in death by her brother Johnny L. Gloster. Leuvonia leaves to cherish her memories: Son, Anthony B. Matheney (Demetrius) Blackville, SC; Two Daughters: Joyce (Torence) Trammell, Martinez, GA; Denise (Carlos) Ortega, Aiken, SC; A loving friend, Earnest Sanders, Blackville, SC; A sister: Helen(Solomon) Hagood, Blackville, SC; Four brothers: Linnie Matheney, Jr.(Cathy), Riverdale, GA;Elmore (Jessie) Matheney, Blackville, SC; Larry(Velina) Gloster, Blackville, SC; Arthur(Joyce) Newton, Greer, SC; ten grandchildren: Keoshia L. Worthy, Raven L. Donaldson, Samoine A. Matheney, Ashley N. Trammell, Darius T. Price, Lauren D. Trammell, Terance A. Trammell, Darius J. Trammell ,Corey A. Streetman, Aniyah Campbell and Jonathan Campbell; one great grandchild: Jordyn M. Murrell;four aunts: Lillie Mae Jamison, Stuart, FL; Deloris Ford, Philadelphia, PA; Dorothy(Abraham) Heyward, Blackville, SC and Lillie Bell Bradley, Blackville, SC; two uncles: James Gloster,Sr, Blackville, SC; Willie(Martha) Gloster, Blackville, SC; a mother-in-law, Lou Ella Donaldson; three sister-in-laws, Essie(Edward) Smalls, Barbara(Dwayne) Black and Lessie Donaldson; two special godchildren: Kennedy B. Johnson and Kamille E. Johnson and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
