Lillian Staley Moorer, a native of Orangeburg, South Carolina, graduated from George Washington Carver High School and attended South Carolina State A & M College in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

As a youngster, she received her earliest religious instructions at Calvary United Methodist Church, even then she was an active participant in church work.

In the early sixties, she relocated to New York City, was baptized at New Mount Zion Baptist Church by the late Dr. E. L. Satchell and has been an active member ever since.

Lillian was employed for over 32 years on the same job, for this she would say, "To God Be The Glory".

She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Florie Mae Franklin of Cordova, SC and Armenia Pough of Cordova, SC; brother, Willie Wannamaker of Maryland; Goddaughter, Shannon N. Hill and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
