Mr. Lloyd Atterberry, son of the late John and Daisy Atterberry was born on March 18, 1943 in Denmark, SC. He departed this life at the Regional Medical Center on December 13, 2015.

He graduated from Voorhees High School (Class of 1961). In 1965, Lloyd was drafted in the United States Army and received numerous honors and recognition for service of his country in the Vietnam War.

Brother Atterberry was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ on May 4,2003 at Progressive Church of our Lord Jesus Christ, Denmark, South Carolina. He remained as a faithful member until his health declined.

Lloyd met the love of his life Rebecca Gillians in 1967 and was united in holy matrimony to her in June of 1968.

He is preceded in death by three sisters, Ruby Dell Kennedy , Claretha Bailey, and Joann Holly;  one brother, Fred Lee Atterberry; two nieces,  Jacqueline Jackson and Sylestine Odom.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca; his three daughters, Tracy Scott of North Charleston, SC,  Michelle (Jerome) Johnson of Denmark, SC and Melissa (Arthur) Folks of Williamstown NJ; two sons, Lloyd Brown of Manhattan NY and Matthew Atterberry of Edinburg TX; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; t wo brothers, Curtis (Charlene) Atterberry of Orangeburg SC and Horace (Nancy) Atterberry of Denmark, SC; one sister- in -law, Mary Atterberry of Queens NY; one brother- in- law, Ronnie Holly of New York, NY; four additional sisters- in- law and six brothers- in- law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
