Early Friday morning on June 18, 2021, Lloyd Pressey departed this life peacefully in his sleep at his residence in Blackville, South Carolina.  Brother Pressey was born on December 6, 1939, to the late Deacon George Pressey, Sr. and the late Dorothy Hughes Pressey.

Lloyd united with God at an early age and joined the Shrub Branch Missionary Baptist Church.  He remained a member of Shrub Branch all of his life and attended regularly while he resided in South Carolina.

Bro. Pressey attended Macedonia Public Schools in Blackville, South Carolina.  He moved to New York at the age of 18 and worked various jobs, retiring as a security officer for a retail store.  On March 11, 1968, he met the love of his life and soul mate, Christine Bynum.  The two were an inseparable pair until his death and they eventually united in holy matrimony on April 15, 2013.   Lloyd and Christine raised 3 children together, Cheryl, Darrell and Derrick Bynum.

Bro. Pressey loved to fish and listen to James Brown's music.  He was one cool, smooth dude and a fantastic dancer! He and his sweetheart, Christine won many dance contests in their lifetime.  Lloyd also greatly loved his family.  Bro. Pressey was preceded in death by his children, Cheryl and Darren; and siblings, Elouise, Zelma, Annette, Josephine, Arthur, George, Jr., Phenesee, Curtis, Mary, and Michael.  Lloyd was the twin brother of George, Jr.

Left to cherish his memory:  His wife, Christine Bynum Pressey of Blackville, SC; one son, Derrick Bynum, of Brooklyn, NY; two brothers, Eugene (Nora) Pressey of Greenville, SC; Willie Edward (Sarah) Pressey of Deer Park, NY; two sisters-in-law: Elizabeth (Dwight) Lucas of Wilson, NC; Doris (Neahmiah) of Kinston, NC; three brothers-in-law, Charles (Olivia) Bynum of Raleigh, NC; Paul (Shirley) Bynum of Henderson, NC and Clarence (Brenda) Bynum of Wilson, NC; one special nephew, Eric A. Kirkland of Blackville, SC; and a host of other in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
