A memorial service for Louis Jordan will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 5:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall of Christ Episcopal Church in Denmark, SC at 5266 Carolina Highway, Denmark, SC. His parents, Carmen Moorehead (biological mother), Gus Jordan, Sr. (biological father), and Gladys F. Jordan (wife of Gus and motherly caretaker) have preceeded him in death.

Louis Jordan was born in Bronx, NY and lived in Brooklyn and Queens. Affectionately called Mr. Louis, by his daughter, he worked as upper management for several grocery corporations. He followed in his father's footsteps to become recognized for his musical talents. Mr. Louis was an acclaimed bassist who played with several bands, including Total Eclipse, Personal Touch, Spice of Life, and Opus. Mr. Louis continued to work in management while residing in Denmark with employment at Brabham Oil, Dollar General, and Aladdin Food Service. Louis Jordan is loved and missed by daughter Ashley, wife Deniece (Lynn), bandmates, family, and friends.
