Funeral services for the late Mrs. Lula B. Perry will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Norway, South Carolina. Mrs. Perry will be placed in the sanctuary one hour before the service. Lula B. Perry departed this life on September 14, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Milhaven, Georgia to the late Isaiah and Mary Emma Williams. She was educated in the Georgia School System and was baptized at an early age at Old McKenna Baptist Church in Georgia. Lula relocated to Trenton, New Jersey in 1947 and continued her education and obtained her license to become a home health aide. She was employed at Magic Marker, Inc. as a supervisor where she worked until she retired in 1977. She later met and married the late Elles Perry, Sr. To this union, two sons and a daughter were born. Lula and Elles relocated back to Orangeburg in 1996. She loved singing, especially the old time gospel songs, "Going up a yonder" by James Cleveland and "In the upper room" by Mahalia Jackson. Lula enjoyed sitting on the front porch with her coffee and spending time with the Lord. Lula was preceded in death by her husband, Elles Perry, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Diane (Moses) of Holland, MI,; two sons, Ralph (Lynette0 Williams of Trenton, NJ and Ellis (Vera) Perry, Jr. of Somerset, NJ; five sisters, Johnny- Mae, MaryBel, Dorothy, Willa Mae and Lorraine; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one aunt, Minne Wade of Florence, SC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
