Mactell Lamar Simmons was born February 7, 1955 to the late Primus Simmons and Leola B Simmons. Mactell (Mack) as he was affectionately called, departed this earthly life for his heavenly home on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Anchor Post Acute Rehabilitation Center in Aiken, SC.

Mactell was a graduate of the Blackville -Hilda high School "class of 1973". After graduating, Mack furthered his education and pursued a degree in Business Management and a certification in automotive technology.  At some point gained employment at Graniteville Company as a lead supervisor for 14 years.

Anyone who knew Mack knew that he was a jack of all trades. Some of the things that he enjoyed doing was working on cars, cooking, reading, dancing when he heard his favorite song, and most of all being with his children.

Besides his parents, Mack is preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers, Ella Dell Bellinger, Lucy Phine Richards, O'Gannar Cheyenne Simmons and Phillip Simmons.

Mack leaves to cherish his beloved memories: five children in which he truly loved, Michele Simmons of Blackville SC, Artesha (Remond) Joyner of Puyallup Washington, Veronica (Joe) Sabb of Williston SC, Mactell Simmons Jr of Augusta Ga, Tameric Simmons of California; a stepson, Ricarldo Haynes; a wife, Willie Anne Simmons of Denmark SC; three siblings, Oliver (Patricia) Simmons of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, Norman Miley of Maryland, Junior (Vern) Miley of Barnwell SC; a mother-in-law, Gladys Haynes of Blackville, SC; two brothers-in -law, Willie (Linda) Haynes, Dwayne Haynes all of Blackville SC; thirteen grandchildren, Broolyn, Khaziyus, Ti'yanna, Darell, Tamara, Jikira, Zaria, Shamiyah, De'sia, King, Junior, Zakia, and Bryson; an adopted daughter he took under his wing, Ann Marie Heyward and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
