Maggie Hanton, 77 of Elloree, S.C entered eternal rest Monday, September 9, 2024, at Edisto Post Acute, in Orangeburg.  She was born October 3, 1947, in Orangeburg County, South Carolina to the late Freddie and Julia Mae Welfare Hanton, who both preceded her in death.

Maggie was educated in the Public School of Elloree, SC for a while until she became faced with mental health challenges and was unable to continue.

Maggie remained home for most of her life where she was loved and cared for by both her loving parents. They made sure she had everything she needed and more. She was spoiled. All she had to do was tell her Momma what she wanted, and she would get it.

As the family know, Maggie had a way of expressing herself, which she picked up from her Daddy. Despite her health challenges, Maggie would laugh, cut up and have us laugh with her.  She also loved music and dancing in her younger days. My cousin Amp would be playing his music, Maggie would be in her room rocking and snapping her fingers to the rhythm.

Maggie was one of ten children, seven preceded her in death, Learline Taylor, David Hanton, Willie Hanton, Sarah Bell Hanton, Mae Bell Fludd, Freddie Hanton, Jr., Flossie Taylor

She leaves to cherish her loving memories, her sister and brother: Rosa Mae Preston and Jake (Barbara) Hanton both of Philadelphia. PA, niece and nephew raised in the home with her, Debbie Hanton, of Summerville, S.C, Louis (Daisy) Fludd, Jr., of Columbia, S.C and a host of nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
