Marcus was educated in the Denmark Public school system. He graduated with the
Class of 1996. Marcus was employed by Arcilla Mining and Land Company of McIntyre, GA as a driver. He was a member of Progressive Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
On February 10, 2018, Marcus married the love of his life, the late Brenda J. Smalls.
Marcus was a fun and loving young man. He enjoyed watching his favorite team, the Kansas City
Chiefs. Marcus also enjoyed racing and hanging with "the boys." He was known to his friends as "C
Biscuit" and "Buggy Smalls."
In 2017 Marcus gave his life to Christ. He lived by II Corinthians 5:17. When Marcus became a
new creature, he began to reap the benefits of salvation.
Marcus treasured spending time with his family. He also enjoyed traveling and fellowshipping with
his friends and church family. Most of all, Marcus LOVED PRAISING THE LORD.
Left to celebrate and cherish his memories are: two devoted daughters, Aaliyah and Marquesha
Smalls; five sons, Malik, Marcus, Amari, Marquez, and Ja'Marcus Smalls; a granddaughter, Kenya Smalls;
a brother, Tarrel (Kimberly) Smalls; a sister, Sherri (Howard) Davis; uncles, Sinclair (Sara) Bias and Felones
Smalls; aunts, Essie Hardy, Laura Smalls, Emma Gean Bias, Ruth Bias, Eartha Bias, Thelma Bias and Mary
Bias; a loving and devoted mother-in-law, Brenda Lee Broughton-Jones; father-in-law, David Jones II; four
nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
