Funeral services for Ms. English will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Lees, South Carolina.  Interment services will follow immediately at the church cemetery. Viewing for the public will be held on Friday from 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Margaret Elizabeth English, daughter of the late Henry and Emma Jane Mack English was born on October 2, 1918 in Clarendon County. She entered into eternal rest on January 17, 2017 at her residence.

At a young age, Ms. English relocated to Bronx, NY, where she received training in and served as a medical aide. While in New York, she lived with her aunt Mrs. Martha Jefferson whom she loved dearly. Ms. English was a member and active participant of Sound View Presbyterian Church. She cherished her small warm-spirited church and attended faithfully until she moved back to South Carolina. Upon moving to Denmark in 1998, she joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Lees, SC where she served as a member of the Missionary Society until her health declined.

Soft- spoken, Aunt Margaret , as she was known by her family and friends was a humble spirit who enjoyed reminiscing and talking about her early years with friends and relatives. She found much pleasure in listening and laughing at jokes as told by her family when we thought she wasn't listening. Although she did not have any children of her own, most of her life has been dedicated to nurturing the well being of many babies to adulthood.

Ms. English is preceded in death by six brothers: James D. English, Leroy English, John Henry English, Isadore English, Ernest English, and Arthur Lee English.

Ms. English is survived by one brother: Charlie E. English of Columbia, SC; one sister, Doshia Kemp, of the home.; special cousins reared in the home as brothers, Cecil W. Johnson of Philadelphia, PA and Nathaniel Parker of Long Island City, New York; sister-in-law, Dorothy L. English of Columbia, SC and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
