Mrs. Margaret Jennings Simmons of Norway, South Carolina was born on February 2, 1952 to the late Frank and Lena Legree Jennings.  She was called to rest on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.

Margaret, also known as Tiny, attended the public schools in Bamberg County.  She worked at Claflin University for a few years in the dining hall. She had a great love for children and also worked as a childcare provider for many years.

Tiny was a faithful and dedicated member of First Peter Baptist Church.  She sang in the choir, was a member of the Missionary Society and the Outreach Ministry.

She was always happy and made it her job to check on the sick and shut in.  Tiny was outgoing with a pleasant personality. She enjoyed talking on the phone to her friends and loved to watch her favorite soap opera, General Hospital. Tiny also loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.

Tiny was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Lucius Simmons.  They reared three of their nephews, Billy Lee, Jack and Larry.

Left to cherish fond memories is her husband of 56 years, Lucius Simmons; one sister, Helen Jennings Nelson of Bamberg, SC; two brothers, Jessie Lee (Kathleen) Jennings of Greensboro, NC and Jasper (Lou Edith) Jennings of Bamberg, SC; one brother in law, Charles Sherman of Bamberg, SC; three sisters in law, Annie Ray of Orangeburg, SC, Betty Brown of Barnwell, SC and Mary Whittaker of Sebring, Florida, her grands and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

We are going to miss Tiny dearly, but we know she is gone to a better place.  Her beautiful smile and precious memories will be with us FOREVER!
