Funeral services for the late Mrs. Margreat H. Braxton will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Shrub Branch Missionary Baptist Church in Blackville, South Carolina. Reverend Neal will officiate. Viewing for the public will be held on Wednesday between the hours of 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. On Saturday morning, February 9th, 2013 at University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia, Mrs. Margreat Harriett Ferguson Braxton departed this earthly life for her heavenly home. Although her physical presence may be no more her legacy shall remain. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor, wisdom, and the love that she had for those that surrounded her. Born on November 10th, 1961 in Barnwell SC to the late Samuel B. & Kayola Mae Ferguson, Margreat was educated in the Blackville Public School System. She spent her life as a loving wife, devoted mother, and homemaker. Early in life she joined Shrub Branch Missionary Baptist church where she remained until her passing. Margreat was married to Leonard Nathaniel Braxton on March 9th, 1980 and this union was blessed with four children. Margreat was preceded in death by her father and mother; her uncles, Henry Smith Jr., Norman Hayes, Willie Smith Sr, and Henry Mack; aunts, Dorothy Jean Smith, Clara Mack, and Lucrisha Saxton; brothers-in-law, Pete Rountree and Sonny Braxton; sister-in-law, Albertha Smalls and a special nephew, Bryan McCreary. Those left to cherish her fond memories include her loving husband, Leonard Braxton(Blackville SC); four children, Samantha Braxton(Blackville SC), Angela (Kelvin) Robinson (Denmark SC), LeoNard Braxton(Blackville SC), and Samuel Braxton (Bamberg SC); four brothers, Samuel Lee Ferguson(Atlanta GA), Samuel Lewis(Laurice) Ferguson(Goose Creek SC), Aubrey Ferguson(Columbia SC) and Issac Ferguson(Atlanta SC); two grandchildren, Alexandria Salley and Jordan Bell( both of Blackville SC); mother-in-law, Hager Braxton (Columbia SC); brothers-in law, Herbert Braxton (Columbia SC) & Wesley (Jeanette) Rountree (North Augusta SC); sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Moses) McCreary (Blackville); uncles, Edward (Constance) Ferguson(Bamberg SC) and Larry Smith(Blackville SC); aunts, Kayollie Ferguson(White Pond SC), Marcella(Emmanuel) Raysor(Blackville SC), Henrietta (Leon) Nickens(Blackville SC), Thelma (Fred)Pryor(Williston SC), Eartha (Spencer Sr) Braxton(Blackville SC) and Pearl Dowling (Augusta GA); a devoted friend, Lorraine Harley (Blackville SC); an adopted nephew, Brandon Mitchell (Blackville SC); adopted children, Manleto Thomas (Denmark SC) and Jessica Montgomery (Bamberg SC); and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
