Funeral services for the late Mr. Marion A. Odom, Jr. will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Christian Antioch House of Prayer, Orangeburg, SC. Interment services will follow immediately in the church cemetery. Viewing for the public will be held on Thursday from 12:00 noon- 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Marion Albert Odom, Jr. was born on October 12, 1956 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Marion Albert Odom, Sr. and the late Delores Rita Odom. He was known to most as "Junie," Mack," "Fuquan" and "Pop Pop." He was the third of six children. At an early age, Junie accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and he served and worked faithfully in the church until his illness. He was a faithful, trustworthy, Christian brother who was dearly loved and will be sorely missed. He was educated through the Newark Public School System. In his early adulthood, Junie had a love for driving trucks and he was employed for over 30 years driving for numerous trucking companies. His love for Christ, his wife, his children, his family and friends exemplified who he was and they were his most prized possession. He was loved by all that he came into contact with. Junie was united in holy matrimony to Terry Hill in April 2001, however, they spent a total of 31 years together beginning in the early 80's. He was a devoted husband and father to six children whose lives he sought to improve by any means necessary. If you knew him, you knew that he cherished those six wonderful kids and instilled in them respect and love for others. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Albert Odom, Sr., Delores Rita Odom, and a brother-in-law, John "Shug" Warren. his celebration of life will be remembered by: his loving wife, Terry Odom; two sons, Hikeam Phelps of Newark, NJ, Ibn Hill of Enterprise, AL; four daughters, simone (T'Quann" Phelps-Terrell of Newark, NJ, shanecca / best friend (Zach) Phelps of Newark, NJ, Salena Phelps of Newark, NJ, and Malika (Anthony) Lewis of Daleville, AL; five sisters, Evangelist Beverly (Bishop Louis, Sr.) Howell of Orangeburg, SC, Sandra (Annie) Odom of Orangeburg, SC, Marsheila Warren of Newark, NJ, Denise (Michael) Dunbar of Springfield, SC and Nelda (John) Hodges of Quincy, Fl; 12 grandkids; two Godchildren, Johnny Anthony of Augusta, Ga and Naomi Singley of Grovetown, GA as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
