Mary K. Hicks Eason, the daughter of the late Deacon
Sammie and Mother Kathleen Hicks, was born on September
29, 1952, and entered eternal rest on Sunday May 2, 2021.
She attended Voorhees High and later attended Denmark
Technical College receiving her Cosmetology certificate.
Mary worked many years with individuals with disabilities
in the private and public school sector. Mary retired from
Orange County Public School System.
Mary later moved to Florida where she worshipped at
Center of Faith Church and then moved to Agape Temple of
Faith, where she worshipped and sang on the choir faithfully.
She then returned to South Carolina and worshipped at The
City of Refuge Ministries.
She was preceded in death by her sister Annie Mae Odom.
Cherishing Mary's memories are: her husband, Shilo
Eason of Altamonte Springs, FL; two children, Elliott Adams,
III (Tasha) of Charlotte, NC and Mary LaShaun Carter (Moses
Jr.) of Denmark, SC; Nana's grandchildren, Marquis Carter
of Orangeburg, SC and Iyana Favor of Charlotte, NC. Mary's
siblings include: Virginia Hiers of Bamberg, SC, Sammy
Hicks, Jr. of Ozark, AL, Pastor James Hicks, Sr. (Alice) of
Apopka, FL, Louise Milhouse (Timothy Sr.) of Bamberg, SC,
Carrie Brooks (Odell Sr.) of Ozark, AL, Queen E. Broughton
(Harry) of Bamberg, SC and Deacon Scott Hicks (Ellen) of
Bowman, SC. Mary also has many nieces, nephews, cousins
and cherished friends.
