Mary Ethel "Puddin" Gissentanna Johnson was born August 21, 1933 to the late Alex and Maggie Green Gissentanna of Norway, South Carolina. She departed this life on April 3, 2020 peacefully at home.

Mary graduated from Great Branch High School in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She married the late Solomon Johnson Jr. of Blackville, South Carolina in 1953 and joined Sunshine Baptist Church where she served faithfully as Deaconess and "Mother of the Church" before going on to glory.

She leaves to us a legacy of strength, love, giving, humbleness, sacrifice, faith and not to worry because "Your Life is in God's hands" which she sang so humbly. Her love for Christ and family will be cherished forever.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories: two sons, Jacob (Robin) Johnson and Solomon Johnson; four daughters, Diana Bell, Mary Louise Bell (Dunbar), Adelle (Bennett) Edwards, Jimmie Dean (Leon) Harrison; one brother-in-law, Bowman Patrick Jr.; ten grandchildren, Jacoby Johnson(Nikki), Natalia Johnson, Marcus Johnson (Tiffany), Brandi Bell, Lavar Harrison, Grace Harrison , Rachelle Williams, Earl Bell, Ayanna Edwards and William Edwards; thirteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives, friends, and caregiver Daisey Mayes.
