Mr. Michael Butterfield was born on March 11, 1955 in Brooklyn, NY to Mrs. Lee Butterfield and the late Mr. David Bingley. He was raised in the home of his grandparents, John Henry and Druecilla Dowling. Michael joined Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church at an early age. He graduated from Bamberg- Ehrhardt High School and Orangeburg- Technical College with a certificate in welding. Michael worked and retired from Bamberg County Board of Public Works. He was a happy and fun-loving person that never met a stranger. Michael loved to sing and listen to gospel music. Michael is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen A. Butterfield; one son, Michael John Butterfield; a granddaughter, Maliyah Butterfield; his mother, Lee Butterfield of Brooklyn, NY; three brothers, Earl (Sandra) McNeil, Keith (Kim) Butterfield and Leroy (Dianne) Bingley; two sisters, Lurline Ransom and Ozella (Donald) Campbell and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Viewing for the public will be held on Sunday from 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
