Funeral services for the late Minister Johnell Copeland will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Blackville, SC. Rev. Dr. Herman Wallace will officiate. Interment services will follow immediately at Hope Memorial Park Cemetery, Barnwell, SC. There will be viewing for the public on Monday, March 16, 2015 from 6:00- 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Johnell "Bet" Copeland, 67, departed from this earthly home and entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 11, 2015. She was born in Blackville, SC on February 26, 1948 to the late Bernice Minus Harrison and Cluese Harrison. "Bet" received her early education from Macedonia High School and graduated in 1966. She attended Denmark Technical College and graduated with a degree in Cosmetology. She later attended the Carolina Theoloigcal Bible Institute and received her Bachelors of the Arts in Christian Education and Masters in Divinity. "Bet" was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church as a Sunday School teacher,member of the Usher Board, and Choir Director. She was also a faithful member of the Blackville Community Choir. She volunteered for various organizations such as Nursing Home Ministry, Meals on Wheels and the Prison Ministry at Allendale Correctional Facility. "Bet" was employed at Shuron and Allendale Correction Facility until her retirement in 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, McCoy Copeland. "Bet" leaves to cherish her memories-her devoted son, Corey Antwon (Yeseniai) Copeland; a wonderful brother, John Edward (Lillian) Harrison); 4 grandchildren, Joseph McCoy Copeland "Nana's birthday", Tatiana Brandi Baladez, Emmitt Lloyd Hollie, Trenice Toles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
