Mr. Nathaniel Mack, affectionately known as "Mamie" was born on December 26, 1949 in Williston, SC. He was the son of the late Filmore Mack Sr. and Mildred Lloyd Mack. He entered into a peaceful rest on February 19, 2013 at his residence in Blackville, SC. Mr. Mack was educated in the Blackville Public School System and Job Corps in Salt Lake City, Utah and Laona, Wisconsin. At an early age, Mr. Mack was baptized at Friendship Baptist Church in Blackville, SC and later moved his membership to Macedonia Baptist Church in Blackville, SC. He was employed for many years at Carpenter Cement Finishing Company and held several jobs in security in Blackville and Columbia, SC. Nathaniel was well loved by all of his family members and was thought of as a father figure to all of his brothers and sisters. His intelligence, quiet demeanor, laughter and academic knowledge led the family to call him,"Doc". Nathaniel is preceded in death by three brothers, Filmore "Phil" Mack, Jr, Henry "Weakie" Louis Mack and Curtis "Moochie" Mack; a sister-in-law, Clara Mack; a nephew, Joe L. Mack; and a step mother, Essie Mack. Cherishing his precious memories are: sisters, Anna B. Abney, Augusta, GA and Shirley Ann Mack Young of North Augusta, GA; two brothers, Leon Dee Mack, and Kenneth (Catherine, who took care of Nathaniel's business matters) Mack both of Blackville, SC; aunts, Margaret Sumter, Beaufort, SC and Sarah Diamond, Columbia, SC; sister-in-laws, Harriet Mack of Blackville, SC and Mary Mack of Hempstead, NY; a special friend, Deloris Stanford; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends. Viewing for the public will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m.- 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
