Dr. Nigel Aubre' Fisher was born on April 21, 1981 in Bamberg, SC to Barbara Fisher Black and the late William Stanley Fisher. He departed the life on December 17, 2023, at his home in Blackville, SC.

Dr. Nigel Fisher was currently employed at the Bamberg Job Corps Center as the Business Community Liaison and Career Prep Manager for the South Carolina Job Corps Services under the Department of Labor.

Dr. Nigel Fisher was a proud graduate of Blackville- Hilda High class of 1999 and after graduation, he matriculated to THEE SOUTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY to earn a B.S. Family and Consumer Science/Child Development in 2004. He earned a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley University in 2009. He also attended Walden University and received a graduate certificate in teaching adults in the field of Early Childhood in 2014 along with a graduate certificate in Teaching and Diversity in Early Childhood Education in 2019 and a Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Administration, Management, and Leadership in 2020. In, 2023 Dr. Fisher received his Doctor of Educational Leadership from FMI Biblical Studies & Seminary. As a focused and dedicated professional, Dr. Fisher received additional certifications in the following areas: Child Welfare Certification, South Carolina Child Care Trainer and Certified Technical Assistance Provider in the State of South Carolina. He also was a Notary Public for the State of South Carolina.

Dr. Fisher previously worked as a Program/Training Coordinator with First Steps to School Readiness Partnership for Barnwell County, a Human Services Specialist II/ Child Protective Services with the Department of Social Services for Aiken County, Mentor Coach as well as the Center Director of YMCA Child Development Academy and Center Director of the Early Learning Center in Barnwell, under the Administration of Aiken County Public Schools.

Dr. Fisher was an avid vocalist and founded the Nigel and FAVOR Ensemble. In 2022, Dr. Fisher became the Founder and CEO of KLAPYOURHANDZ EARLY EDUKATION Consulting, LLC.

He was an active member at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Lees, SC. In Spring 2008, Dr. Fisher became a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.  His fraternity allowed him to possess a wealth of knowledge and experience in partnerships and collaboration throughout various communities locally and state level. His notable accomplishments include the 2021 MLK Denmark Cares Organization, 2021 SMART BOX Annual Book Drive Partnership with Early Steps to School Success, 2020 Unity Festival with SC Regional Housing Authority Region III, 2019 Community Sex Trafficking Symposium, 2019 "Demolitioning Barriers, Constructing New Minds Symposium, Annual Week of the Young Child Celebration (National Association of Education for the Young Child). Dr. Fisher was a strong supporter and advocate for the Fatherhood initiative and the Head Start Program that he spearheaded. In 2019, He began working the SC State Head Start Association Fatherhood Coalition during the Annual Fatherhood Conference. His goal was to bring awareness and the magnify the importance of men understanding their role in society and to their families. Dr. Fisher conducted workshops for SC State Head Start Association Fatherhood Conference for the past five years. His training and philosophy were always centered around men enhancing their skills to become better fathers, men and role models.

Dr. Fisher had a passion for modeling great character traits and modeling great leadership skills for both youth and adults. Dr. Fisher's motto was, "Working Together, We Can Achieve."

Dr. Fisher is preceded in death by two brothers.

Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Barbara (Dwayne) Black of Blackville; ten sisters, Deidra (Antonio) Fisher Harley of Blackville, SC, Towanya (LaVar) Bracy of Blackville, SC, Zelma Izlar, Clemson SC, Teretha Newkirk of Jacksonville, Fla, Frances Moody of Denmark, SC, Pamela Raysor of Denmark, SC, Yalanda (Deandre) Kearse of Blackville, SC, Claudia Hiers of Barnwell SC, Nicolla (Michael) Payne Evans of Georgia and Tiffani Mungin of Denmark, SC; two brothers, Irving and Kennith Hiers both of Barnwell, SC; aunts: Lessie, Essie (Edward), Connie, Sharon, Lois, Shirley, Hannah, Georgia, and Verlise; a host of loving nieces, nephews and cousins whom he loved dearly; great nephews, Khalil J. Williams and Amias Barnes and a spiritual God- Mother, Mary Ann Reed.
