Deaconess Onetha Grimes, daughter of the late Deacon Theodore Abraham, Sr. and Deaconess Willie Lee-Martin Abraham, was born on December 16, 1945 in Branchville, South Carolina. Onetha was called into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at her home with her family by her bedside, after an extended illness.

At an early age, Onetha joined Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully.

Onetha graduated from Lockett High School, which is presently Branchville High School. She worked at Greenwood Mills Inc. (Edisto Plant) Orangeburg, South Carolina, until its closing in 1988. Onetha furthered her education at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College. She went on to work for the Orangeburg County Disabilities and Special Needs Board for 18 years and retired in 2007.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Laverne Heyward and Mary Davis and two brothers, Theodore Abraham, Jr. and Sinclair Abraham.

Onetha leaves to cherish her memories—her husband of 52 years, Calvin Grimes; three sons, Ricky (Wanda) Grimes of Orangeburg, SC, Terry Grimes of the home and Jeffery Grimes of Ridgeville, SC; daughter-in-law, Annette Grimes of Orangeburg, SC; five grandchildren; one brother, Rev. Elonzo (Rev. Shirley) Abraham of Branchville, SC and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Viewing for the public will be held on Sunday from 12:00- 8:00pm at the funeral home.
