On Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital, Mrs. Roberta E. Lawton entered into eternal rest.

She was born on June 22, 1947 in Barnwell County, SC to the late David Elmore Sr. and the late Rosella Minus Elmore. She attended the former Macedonia High School in Blackville, South Carolina and graduated in 1965.

Early in life, she joined Tabernacle Baptist Church and remained there until her passing. She was a member of Tabernacle's Sanctuary Choir and the Blackville Community Choir and sang as long as she was able.

In September 1977, she was married to the late Willie Earle Lawton, and they were loving parents to two children, Kisha and Brian. The memory of her, as being a kind, devoted, and strong God-fearing woman full of joy will continue in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, the late David Elmore Sr. and the late Rosella Minus Elmore; her brother, the late Hubert Elmore; her husband, the late Willie Earle Lawton; and her sister, the late Julia Elmore Sanders.

Survivors include her loving children Kisha (Cleveland III) Bush and Brian (Chanosha) Lawton; siblings, David Jr. (Joanne) Elmore, Roosevelt (Bessie) Elmore, Donald (Rose) Elmore, Ronnie (Janie) Elmore and Larry Elmore; grandchildren, Allante (Rickell) Harrison, Ashante Harrison, Briana Lawton and Wisdom Lawton.
