Ms. Rosa Nell Moody entered into eternal rest on Wednesday,
March 30, 2022 at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia,
South Carolina.
Rosa was born in Bamberg County, South Carolina on April 9, 1946,
the daughter of the late Charlie Moody, Jr. and Eartha Mae Rivers-
Moody.
She attended the public schools of Bamberg County and because of
her esteemed love of education, she went on to pursue her passion of
higher education. Rosa earned an Associate of Science degree in Web
Design from Midlands Technical College, a Bachelor of Science degree
in Information Technology from South University, and a Master of
Business Administration (MBA) from Webster University all in
Columbia, South Carolina. Her MBA was completed at the age of 72,
while battling ongoing health issues.
At an early age, she joined and was baptized at Thankful Baptist
Church in Bamberg, South Carolina. After moving to Brooklyn, New
York, she joined Upper Room Baptist Church and served on the usher
board.
Rosa worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York for ten years as a
Cash Vault Agent and later, moved back to South Carolina, where she
volunteered at Agape Hospice Care in Columbia, South Carolina, while
attending school.
An avid lover of life, Rosa enjoyed laughing, dancing and family. Her
magnetic personality left an unforgettable affect on all she met. Never
afraid to speak her mind and because of her outspoken wit, you were
guaranteed a good laugh while in her presence. Rosa possessed a
spirit of persistence and drive. Her strength to overcome many
obstacles she faced was truly a testament of her faith in God.
Rosa was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Denise Thomas; a
grandson, Ronnie Rashawan Thomas; three sisters: Willa Mae Moody
-Johnson, Ruth Allen Moody-Morant and Joyce Lee Moody; three
brothers: Charles Moody, Larry Moody and Elza Alphonso Moody.
She leaves to mourn and cherish fond memories

SC; four great granddaughters: E'Jayiah Ochotukpo of Aiken, SC,
Christina Woodley of Blackville, SC, Angel Lovett and Faith Lovett of
Barnwell, SC; five sisters: Anna Mae Moody and Geraldine Dowling of
Brooklyn, NY, Annette (Jerome) Rickenbaker of Columbia, SC,
Jacqueline (Willie) Smalls and Lorraine Johnson of Bamberg, SC; one
son -in -law, Ronnie Thomas of Blackville, SC and a host of nieces,
nephews, relatives and friends.
