The angel of death has visited again and a godly life ended on Thursday evening, March 24, 2011 at Roper Hospital. Rosabell Ray was taken from our midst. We know she is at rest with our Heavenly Father. God saw the road was getting rough and the hills were harder to climb. He gently closed her loving eyes and whispered to Rosabell "peace be thine". Rosabell was born on August 21, 1934 at County Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Allen Scott and Wilhelmina Weston and was educated in the public school system in Charleston, South Carolina. Rosabell was a member of Promise Land Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Word Christian Center located in Hanahan, South Carolina. Rosabell gave of herself by caring for the sick and elderly and she volunteered her time with South Carolina Voter Registration. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Clevie Eugene Ray. She is also preceded in death by one son, Eugene Fogle. Rosabell lived her life by setting a positive example. She spent many hours thinking about her family and desired for each one of them to have a closer relationship with God. She was prepared for the day that our Heavenly Father would call her home and has done the work that the Lord had her to do. She never complained and loved singing praises to God and would often say to her family and friends, "May the work I've done, speak for me". Cherishing Rosabell's fond memories are her loving children, Lavone W. Holbert, Linda J. Portee, Anthony Ray, Cheryl D. Ray, Patty A. Ray, Joyce L. Ray, and Harold M. Ray; many loving grandchildren and great- grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. Mother, we love you and we know that your soul is waiting for the coming of Jesus and the mansion he promised is waiting for you.
