Mrs. Rosetta Vivian Brown Rhodes, finished her earthly journey on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 after an extended illness. She was born in Orangeburg, SC on February 28, 1952, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Caldwell and Rosa Lee Brown, Sr. Rosetta began her Christian journey as a child at St. Paul Baptist Church with an enduring strength, faith and love for others; serving as a witness for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of the Deaconess Board as well as the Usher Board. She sang on the choir at her husband's former church, Central United Methodist Church in Rowesville, SC and the Orangeburg Gospel Choral Union. Though never published, she would spend many hours writing Gospel lyrics. She faced many health challenges of her own, but she never missed an opportunity to comfort and inspire others. Her unconditional love for her family and friends will forever be etched in our hearts. Rosetta graduated from Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School in1970. On August 18, 1972 she entered into holy matrimony with Nathaniel Rhodes. This union was blessed with three children, Morris, Craig and Roquel. She later earned Certification from Orangeburg Calhoun Technical College in Medical Office Assistance. She worked in the Admitting Office at The Regional Medical Center, Roses Department Store, Acacia Flower Shop and also as a substitute teacher for Orangeburg Consolidated School District Five. Cherishing and remembering her lovingly are: her husband, Nathaniel Rhodes of the home, two sons, Morris (Sherry) Rhodes of Rowesville, SC; Craig Rhodes (Chevette Hancock) of Orangeburg, SC; one daughter, Roquel Rhodes of the home; two brothers, John Allen Brown and Regina Brown both of Orangeburg, SC; three sisters, Gloria McFadden, Audrey Williams and Brenda (LaWayne) Brooks all of Orangeburg, SC: one brother in law, Benjamin (Georgianna) Rhodes of Orangeburg, SC; two sisters in law, Bernice (James) Dessaure and Deloris (Tommy) Green all of Orangeburg, SC; seven grandchildren,; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. Viewing for the public will be held on Friday between the hours of 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may call at the residence and at the funeral home.
