Funeral Services for Mrs. Yon will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Dash's Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Mrs. Rosia Yon,72, was born to the late Julius J. and Elizabeth W. Robinson on October 24,1938 in Bowman, SC (Orangeburg County). She completed her educational studies in the Orangeburg County Public School System obtaining her diploma in 1957. After graduation, she left South Carolina and relocated to Philadelphia, PA. After getting settled with the city life, she worked in many capacities such as a telephone operator, factory inspector, assistant teacher working with the special needs department for the Philadelphia School System. While in Philly, she met the love of her life, Mr. George "Bobby" Yon. After their meeting, they united in holy matrimony on February 17, 1962. They traveled to many places and experienced many adventures. They were foster parents to three boys who they loved them very much. After the retirement of her husband, they returned to South Carolina. ROSIA will be missed dearly by her loving family and her little friend "PEPPY" the dog. She was preceded in death by her father and mother (Julius& Elizabeth Robinson), nephew Lockett L. Campbell. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: husband of 49yrs, George Yon, 2 step-children, Barbara Y. Jolley and Darry George Yon,2 step-grandchildren, Ivy Jolley and Quincy Jolley; one sister, Donna R. Campbell, Grantville, GA, 2 nephews: LTC W. Fitzgerald(Ulrike)Campbell and Julius L. Campbell of Metro Atlanta, GA, 2 grand-nephews and 1 grand-niece, Four aunts, Zula Johnson, Pensacola, FL ,Minnie Stroud, Charleston, SC, Evernell Garvin, Richmond ,VA, and Dorothy(Willie) Philpot, Jacksonville, FL, one uncle, Herman(Lucille) Winningham, Orangeburg, SC, and host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
