Funeral services for the late Rudolph Parker, Jr., will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Edisto Fork United Methodist Church, Orangeburg, SC. Rev. Hayes T. Gainey will officiate. Interment services will follow immediately in the church cemetery. Viewing for the public will be held on Friday from 12:00 noon- 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Rudolph Parker, Jr., affectionately known as "Cowboy/ Shorty" was born on November 16, 1946 in Orangeburg, South Carolina to the late Ethel Lee Stroman Parker and Rudolph Parker. He is also the grandson of the late Tom and Ellen Parker and Lowman and Flossie Stroman. Rudolph departed this life on January 19, 2015 at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital, Columbia, South Carolina. Rudolph attended the public schools in Orangeburg and New York. He was a graduate of Seward Park High School located in New York, New York. Rudolph attended Jerusalem United Methodist Church as a child and later attended Christ Church located in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Rudolph was a handyman for Parker Construction Company, a landscaper and a barber shop assistant. His sister Mildred and many others will always remember his gentle and kind spirit. He had a community of friends and family who loved him in Orangeburg and in New York. After the passing of his mother, Rudolph lived with his brother and sister-in-law, Clemson and Dorothy and their son, Peter. Cherishing Rudolph's precious memories are two devoted sisters, Mildred Parker Ojoye of New Jersey and Linda Diane Parker England of New York; two brothers, Tyrone Parker of Pennsylvania and Kenneth Parker, Sr of New York; four sisters-in-law, Dorothy "Penny" Parker of South Carolina, Carmen Scott and Nenita Parker both of New York and Robin Parker of Michigan; two brothers-in-law, Bola Ojoye of New Jersey and Anthony England of New York; aunts, Gertrude Tyler, Mary Bryant, Eva Mae Parker and Emma Ruth Stroman; an uncle, Matthew Stroman; nieces and nephews, Celia Lee Parker, Zamora Lee Parker, Jannette Lee Parker, Peter Parker, Hakeem Ward, Lateef Ojoye, Ahmed Ojoye, Tiffany McNair, John Parker, Tanisha England, Tanaya England, Tiera England, Kenneth Parker, James Parker, Christopher Parker and a host of cousins and friends. Rudolph has gone home to be with the Lord. Don't weep too long for him. He has had some good days as well as bad days. He is now resting with no more pain or sorrow to bear.
