Ruth Ella Grant-Green, daughter of the late Ernest and Louise
Grant was born on July 3, 1951 in Bamberg, South Carolina.
At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Bamberg, South
Carolina.
Ruth attended the public schools of Bamberg, South Carolina
where she had many family members and friends.
Ruth moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1968 at the age of 17 with
her sister, brother-in- law and niece. In the early 70's, the family
moved to Queens, New York. She obtained a job in the
manufacturing industry where she operated a pen machine.
Ruth met her husband in 1971 and they stayed together through
the years and married in 1984.
In the year 2000, Ruth joined First Calvary Baptist Church of
Brooklyn, New York through Christian experience where she
was loved dearly. She served with the Deaconess Ministry,
Pastor's Aide Ministry, Food Pantry Ministry and the Women's
Ministry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Louise
Grant and her sister, Mary Louise Grant.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Leonard Green
of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one stepson, Leonard Green Jr. (Tracey) of
Virginia Beach, VA; two step-grandsons, Leonard Green III of
San Diego, CA and Trenton Green of Virginia Beach, VA; one
sister, Pauline Kearse of Bamberg, SC; one brother, Elijah Grant
(Jacqueline) of Queens, NY; two sisters- in- law, Delores Cobb of
Detroit, MI and Linda Baldwin (Charles) of Birmingham, AL;
one brother- in- law, Ronald Green of Holly Springs, MS; a special
niece, Inez Shipley (Gilbert) of Bamberg, SC;  two more nieces,
Vivian Bamberg of New port Richey, FL and Teneal Grant of
New York City, NY; a special grand-niece, Shyla Turner of
Tampa, FL;  two more grand-nieces, Maitayvia Bamberg and
Jahniya Kitching of New Port Richey, FL; one nephew, Jermaine
Bamberg of Bamberg, SC; a special grand-nephew, Patrick
Turner (Sakendra) of Columbia, SC; one more grand-nephew,
Jaidyn Bamberg of New Port Richey, FL;  five Godchildren,
Montrese Meeks and Ebony Dickerson of Teaneck, NJ, Torri
Meeks of Brooklyn, NY, Kayla Thompson of Bronx, NY and
Kendall Williams of Atlanta, GA; two special cousins that are
like sisters, Lillie Dowling of Brooklyn, NY and Emma Downing
of Brooklyn, NY and a host of family and friends that loved her dearly.
