Sammie Kinard, Jr. affectionately known to his family as 'June' was born in Barnwell County, South Carolina on December 18, 1933 to the late Sammie & Myrtis Kinard. He departed this life on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at the RMC Bamberg Barnwell Emergency Medical Center.

He was employed with various logging and construction companies.

On August 19, 1951, he was united into holy matrimony to Rosa Felder. To this union five children were born. After her heavenly transition, he was united into holy matrimony to Ruth Pressley on September 9, 1967. To this union three children were born.

He was preceded in death by two of his sons, Johnnie Lee Kinard & William 'Chopper' Kinard; daughter, Elease Kinard James, and a Great Granddaughter, Jasmine LaPrecious Johnson.

He will forever be known for having a very loving yet VERY SERIOUS demeanor, especially when it came to his family. He had a Great Love for his family. However, his love stretched a Bit Longer when it came to his Grandchildren. He loved to fish, hunt, and collect memorabilia. If a family member is looking for a picture or an old newspaper clipping…he saved them all.  Once you got to know "June' Kinard, you could never forget him.

He is fondly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Ruth 'Penny' Kinard;

Two Daughters: Burnnese Kinard & Barbara Ann James both of Blackville, SC;

Six Sons: Curtis Kinard of Blackville, SC, Bernard (Kelly) Kinard of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Tommy (Aretha) Kinard of Barnwell, SC , Tyron (Felicia) Kinard, Ronnie Pressley, & Elder Albert (Evangelist Malissa) Pressley all of Blackville, SC; One Grandson Reared in the home as a son: Tyrall Kinard; One Sister: Sarah Mae James of Wilmington, Delaware; Two Brothers: John Henry Kinard of Wilmington, Delaware, Horace Kinard of Blackville, SC; Five Brother-in-Laws and One Sister-in-Law; 32 Grandchildren, 44 Great-Grandchildren, and 5 Great Great Grandchildren. Some special friends of whom he held close to his heart: Alonzo Johnson, William Harley, Daniel Dunbar, and a host of truly adored nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
