Funeral services for the late Mr. Samuel Austin will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Warren Chapel Baptist Church, Orangeburg, SC.  Interment services will follow immediately at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church, Orangeburg, SC.  Viewing for the public will be held on Friday from 12:00 noon- 7:00 pm at the funeral home.


Mr. Samuel Austin was born on April 6, 1943 in Orangeburg SC. He was the son of the late Isaac and Fannie Austin. He was called to eternal rest following an extended illness on Thursday, February 7, 2019 while at Jolly Acres HealthCare Center.

Mr. Samuel Austin grew up in the Orangeburg community and was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County. He was employed by Albemarle Chemical Plant and at the age of 62 after over 30 years of service, he retired.

Mr. Austin joined Warren Chapel Baptist Church at an early age. He attended church faithfully until his health started failing. He was united in holy matrimony to Maxine Ritter and to this union one daughter was born, Sonya.

Three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

Mr. Austin leaves to cherish him in fond memories: his wife, Maxine of the home, one daughter, Sonya (Willie Ray) Dash; one grand-daughter, Kimarae all of Orangeburg SC, mother-in-law, Florimae Stevenson of Cordova SC; one brother, Benjamin (Jessie) Austin of Cambria Heights, NY;  five sisters-in-law, Maggie (Arthur) Dantzler, Alice (Mike) Simpson all of Orangeburg SC , Pearline (Robert) Brown of Sicklerville, NJ, Catherine Johnson of Cordova SC;  two brothers-in-law, Brooker T. Jennings and Arthur Evans and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
