Sanjonas Matthew Rumph was born June 9, 1983 to Mr. Mack Arthur Rumph and the late Denise Pickens Rumph in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He was reared in Denmark and accepted Christ at an early age. He loved his Church and enjoyed the fellowship with members.  He graduated from Denmark Olar High School and later attended Denmark Technical College where he graduated with two Associate Degrees, one in Accounting and the second in Criminal Justice.

While attending college, he lived with and devoted himself to protecting his grandmother, Clemie Pickens, to ensure she was safe and never alone. He made his career in the security and public safety industry and worked at the Orangeburg County Detention Center.  Once she moved to live with her daughter, Sanjonas followed opportunities that took him to live and work in various cities--Fredericksburg, Virginia and Greenville, South Carolina.

He was single and did not have any children. His nieces and a host of cousins and friends can tell of the joy he brought to their lives.  In his spare time, he enjoyed watching football, playing video games and challenging anyone to a card game, especially Uno. He loved vintage cars and rap music.  All who knew him will miss his laughter and his smile.

Sanjonas was preceded in death by his sister, Clemie Wanella Rumph, brother, Clay Arthur Rumph, and mother, Denise Pickens Rumph.

He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Mr. Mack Arthur (Katherine) Rumph; brother, Mr. Mack Emanuel (Tameka) Rumph; a stepsister, Tia Rumph. Several aunts and uncles share in this grief. They are Bessie R. Dibble, Dan Rumph, Hattie R. Folks, Mary R. Montgomery, Sadie R. Davis, Daisy Rumph, Wanda P. (William) Smith, Sharon P. Marshall and Sanford L. (Martha) Pickens.
