Funeral services for Mr. Sephus Benjamin will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Deliverance Center of Praise located in North, South Carolina. The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Interment services will follow immediately at Canaan Cemetery in North, South Carolina. Rev. Linda Livingston will officiate. Mr. Sephus Levino "Pop" Benjamin, Jr., was born on September 14, 1948 and was the eldest son of the late Sephus "Hec" and Aldora Benjamin. He was born in New York City. Sephus graduated from Wilkinson High School in 1966. On June 6, 1967, Sephus married Maggie B. Keitt and four children were born to this union. Sephus joined The United States Army and served two tours in Vietnam. After returning home, he embarked upon a career as a truck driver which allowed him to stay in contact with family and friends both near and far aross the United States. Unexpectedly, you would look up and "Pop" would be there with a big smile and his arms stretched wide. "Pop" leaves to cherish his memories: three daughters, Sonja (Robert) France of Winston Salem, NC, Latasha L. Benjamin of Riverdale, GA and Yolanda (Dwayne) Josey of Orangeburg, SC; a son, Trevino L. Benjamin of Winston Salem, NC; six grandchildren; a brother, Hercules (Annette) Benjamin; a sister, Carolyn King (Alfred) Washington of Orangeburg, SC; a companion, Charlotte Barnes; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
