Shelly Holman Jr, 75, died June 25, 2011 in Aiken Regional Medical Center. Shelly Holman Jr., was the son of the late Shelly and Catherine Holman of Blackville, SC. Although a native of Blackville, SC, Mr. Holman spent most of his adult life in New York where he met his wife who preceded him in death, Ela Maximin Holman. With an urge to serve his country, Mr. Holman spent a brief time in the US Military. Having an artistic flair he worked for a publishing company and later became a member of the Graphic Union out of Washington, DC. Upon returning back home to Blackville, SC, Shelly reunited his membership with the family church, Macedonia Baptist Church. Mr. Holman was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Long, and a brother, Larry Holman. He leaves to cherish his memories: two sisters, Mary (Marvin) Brown and Mildred Walker; a brother James (Sandra) Holman, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends, in-laws whom are presently located in Spain at this time, and close friends. Shelly Holman Jr. was greatly loved by all he encountered, and will be greatly missed! Viewing for the public will be held on Friday between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
