Mrs. Sherylee Elaine Marine Govan, daughter of the late Ms. Sammie Lee Marine of Hartsville, South Carolina and Mr. Nathan Kirkland, Sr. of Colleton County, South Carolina, departed this life on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at her residence.

Elaine worshipped at Mount Olive in Bamberg, South Carolina and St. Paul Baptist Church in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She attended Dreher High School in Columbia, South Carolina.

Sherlyee married Samuel Govan of Orangeburg, SC in February 1982 and became proud parents of Samuel Govan, Jr.

Sherylee was preceded in death by her mother, father and brother, Robert Marine.

She leaves to cherish precious memories, her husband, Samuel Govan, Sr. of Orangeburg, South Carolina; son, Samuel Govan, Jr.; grandson, Ezra Omari Govan; granddaughter, Angel Govan; sisters, Nadine, Sonya, Pearl, Mary, Betty and Linda; brother, Willie Marine; in-laws, nieces, nephews, special family members, James and Shirley Hall and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
