S hirley Ann Lee Hutto , the daughter of the late Lessie Mae Lee and Simon Sept, was born on August 16, 1944 in Barnwell County, South Carolina.  She departed this life on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Morris View Healthcare Center and Compassus-Hospice and Palliative Care in Morris Township, New Jersey.

She attended the public schools in Blackville, South Carolina.

Shirley was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Blackville, SC.  After relocating to New Jersey, she attended Union Baptist Church in Morristown, New Jersey.

She was married to St. Clair Hutto, and to this union, one daughter was born.

Shirley was formerly employed by Morristown Memorial Hospital.   She also worked as a Dietary Clerk for Delbarton Catholic School in Morristown, New Jersey, until her health declined in 2009.

She was preceded in death by seven siblings: Annie Lou, Linda, George, Georgia, Wallace, Alma and Betty.

Those left to cherish fond memories are – her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Josephine and Eddie  Portis of  Morristown, NJ; husband, St. Clair Hutto of Blackville, SC; precious granddaughter, Jasmine Portis of Morristown, NJ; a devoted niece, Debra Williams Hale of Dover, NJ; one brother, Harold (Shirley) Lee of Ft. Myers, FL; sisters: Hattie Harley and Lelia Minus both of Blackville, SC; one aunt, Rosa Dowling of Indian Town, FL;  sisters-in-law: Pearline Lee of Blackville, SC, Sarah Addison of  Florida, Debra Gardner of Florida, Gloria Gardner of South Carolina and Alberta (Don) Rackley of  Georgia; brothers-in-law: Hurie Williams, Sr. of New Jersey, Bobby Gardner of Blackville, SC and Tommy Gardner of North Carolina, and a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, whom she was instrumental in rearing, other loving relatives and friends.

Viewing for the public will be held on Monday from 3:00- 7:00 pm at Macedonia Baptist Church. A wake is scheduled from 6-7:00 pm.
