Funeral services for the late Lorine Brown will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Frost Branch Missionary Baptist Church, Blackville, South Carolina. Interment services will follow at Hope Memorial Park Cemetery, Barnwell, South Carolina.  Viewing for the public will be held on Thursday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home.



Sister Brown's life was full and rewarding. Those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeded the quantity of time in which she lived. She was such a great inspiration to all with whom she came in contact and often gave generously of her resources and time. When she could share, she did so with a smile and said, "Here, take this; I ain't stingy." Her faith gave us such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. At the time of her passing, she was a faithful member of Trinity Outreach Ministries International, Inc. of Aiken, South Carolina.

Sister Brown was born in Blackville, South Carolina.

Sister Brown attended Macedonia Public Schools, where she received a high school diploma. She attended Denmark Technical College and received a certificate in Cosmetology and Barbering. Lorine was a licensed foster parent and served as a foster parent to various foster children in Barnwell County, South Carolina for more than two decades. After high school, she worked for several years at Chill Chest Manufacturing Facility in Williston, South Carolina until its closure. She was then employed with Burlington Industries in Barnwell, South Carolina for a period of time. After leaving Burlington, Lorine gained employment with Graniteville Mills in Graniteville, South Carolina, and retired from there after serving 26 years. Because of her get-up-and-go attitude, she became restless and decided to start another career in the health care field. She went back to school and received her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) License and found employment with the Pepper Hill Nursing Home in Aiken, South Carolina, and the Laurel Baye Healthcare Facility in Blackville, South Carolina. Due to her illness, she was forced to resign in 2014.

Sister Brown was the third (3rd) of nine (9) siblings who God brought home to rest and be with Him. Her parents, the late Winchester and the late Lila Mae Milligan Smith preceded her in death. Two siblings, Leroy Smith, Sr. and Elizabeth Dicks also preceded her in death.

Sister Brown leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted husband of 25 years, Carnell Brown, who cared for her faithfully and patiently until the end; two sons: Larry Smith and Sherman Smith (Laurie); four step-children: Angie Creech, Tammie Green (Rev. Ben Green), James Brown (Lawanda) and Tony Creech (Towanda); six brothers and sisters: Miller Smith (Irma), Lessie Hamilton, Mary Davis (Thomas), Leila Haynes, Winchester Smith, Jr. and James Smith; eight sisters-in-law and six brothers-in-law; twelve grandchildren, and one great grandchild. There are many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and two very special pet Chihuahua dogs, named, Princess and June, who will miss her dearly.

Our family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to all of those who shared such a very important part of Sister Brown's life journey over the past two years, especially the Staff a Aiken Regional Hospital, the Cancer Center of Aiken, South Carolina, Palmetto Baptist Hospital of Columbia, South Carolina, and all the health care professionals who cared for her during her extended illness. We are eternally grateful to all of the many relatives, friends, and Trinity Outreach Ministries Church family who made the sacrifice to help make her life comfortable.
