On Thursday morning, March 23, 2017, at Spartanburg Medical Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Mr. Solomon J. Hagood also known as "Joe/Big Dog" entered into eternal rest. He was born on March 19,1949 in Barnwell, South Carolina, the son of the late Joe Rod Hagood and the late Anne J. Hagood.

He graduated from Macedonia High School in Blackville, South Carolina. He attended South Carolina Area Trade School and Voorhees College in Denmark, South Carolina.

After high school he served in the U S army. He was employed at Blackville Police Department for many years.

Solomon was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Matheney Hagood.

Those left to cherish his beautiful memories are his children: Tarssha(Edward) Cain of Lyman, SC; Tavari Hagood and Crystal (Andre Hightower) Creech all of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren, Kaylan Cain and Anthony Creech Jr.; a brother, Kenneth (Caroline) Hagood of Barnwell, SC; three sisters, Janice (James) Livingston of Blackville, SC; Mamie (Walter) Matthews of Blackville, SC and Patricia Hagood of Blackville, SC; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing for the public will be held on Sunday from 12:00 noon- 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
