Funeral services for the late Mr. Solomon Johnson will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Dash's Funeral Home Chapel in Bamberg, South Carolina. Viewing for the public will be held on the day of the service beginning at 12:00 noon until the hour of the funeral service. Interment services will follow immediately at Bamberg Memory Gardens, Bamberg, SC. Solomon Johnson, 60, of Lexington, SC and formerly of Albany, NY, departed his life on January 23, 2013 at the Lexington Medical Center. Solomon was born on July 2, 1952 in Bamberg, SC to the late Eva Mae Jones and Horace Johnson. At an early age, Solomon joined St. John Baptist Church in Bamberg, SC. Solomon attended Bamberg Public Schools. He worked as a butcher throughout his career. He started his apprenticeship at Blockers Grocery of Bamberg. After relocating, he furthered his career at Key Food, Price Chopper and VJ Franze all of New York. Until his health began to fail, Solomon worked at Hannaford Brothers of Albany, NY. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Solomon enjoyed traveling with his lovely wife and family. Solomon leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Debra Johnson; four daughters, Allison (Eric) Kirkland, Denmark, SC, Sharone Nicole Davis and Sharmaine Davis both of Greensboro, North Carolina, Crystal Covington of Miami, Florida; three sons, Dwayne Johnson, Albany, NY, Timothy Scott, Columbia, SC and James Russell (Donna) Johnson, Charlotte, NC; nine sisters, Eula Mae Moore, Eva Mae Johnson and Mamie R. Waldo all of Columbia, SC, Mary Carmichael of Orangeburg, SC, Elizabeth Scott of Kingstree, SC, Frances (Ben) Mack, Earnestine (Charles) Ross, Cynthia (Michael) Sapp all of Bamberg and Bethal Johnson, Denmark, SC; twelve brothers, Freddie (Willa) Johnson, John E. Johnson, Nathaniel Johnson and Matthew Johnson all of Bamberg, SC, Willie James (Naomi) Johnson, Richard C. (Gwendolyn) Johnson, Walter Johnson, Ernest (Vickey) Johnson and Albert Johnson all of Columbia, SC, Larry (Angela) Johnson of Norway, SC, Christopher Scott, Orangeburg, SC and Walter Stokes, New York, NY; one aunt, Emma Johnson, Charlotte, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
