Willie Ellison, son of the late Richard Ellison, Sr. and Edna Mae Ellison was born on November 1, 1953 in Calhoun County, South Carolina. Willie departed this life on February 13, 2018 at William Bryan Dorn Medical Center, Columbia, South Carolina.

During his early years, he attended St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Creston, South Carolina. He was educated in Calhoun County and worked for Continental Grain until he entered the United States Army in 1977. He served three years active duty and 29 years with the Army National Guard. He was a Staff Sergeant when he retired.

He met and married Sharon Loretta Johnson in 1979. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Willie was preceded in death by his son, Willie D'Xie Ellison and two brothers, John Ellison and Anthony Ellison.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his loyal wife, Sharon; precious daughter, Sharyn Dionna Ellison; three sisters, Shirley Simmons of Lone Star, South Carolina, Brenda Ellison and Patricia (Julius) Funderburg of Orangeburg, South Carolina; two brothers, Richard (Diane) Ellison of Fayetteville North Carolina and Arthur Ellison of Orangeburg, South Carolina and a host of niece, nephews, cousins and friends.

Viewing for the public will be held on Sunday from 12:00 noon- 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
