TERRY JEAN ODOM DONALDSON was 57 years old when she
was called home to rest. She transitioned at the Regional Medical
Center in Orangeburg, SC on August 20, 2022. Terry was born in
Brooklyn, NY on February 12, 1965 to the late Sylestine Kennedy
Odom and the late Clary Odom.
She was preceded in death by: one niece, Kiana Sylestine Sanders;
an aunt, Robin Kennedy Tyler; a step-father, John Perkins; an uncle,
Leon Kearse and a cousin, Eric Odom.
Terry attended public schools in Brooklyn, NY up until the 11th
grade. She moved to South Carolina where she resided with the
aunt, Lucille Odom Kearse for many years. There she attended
Blackville Hilda High School until completion.
Terry was employed by Silver Springs Nursing Facility and Macedonia Elementary School for many years. She was faced with health issues that limited her ability to work before retiring. Terry enjoyed
life but, most importantly, she loved her family. Much of her time
after becoming disabled was spent with her husband, children and
family.
Terry is survived by: her husband of 29 years, Detroit Donaldson;
three children, Krystal Noel Odom, Dion Clary Odom and Shemar
Donaldson, all of Blackville, SC; her special grandson, Christian McMillan
of Blackville, SC; a sister, Teresa Odom (Marcus I.) Sanders of Blackville,
SC; mother-in-law, Thelma Donaldson of Blackville, SC; brothers-inlaw and sisters-in-law, Mary Milledge, James Henry Donaldson, James
Edward Donaldson, Dorothy Donaldson and Lois Donaldson Odom,
all of Blackville, SC, Gary (Sherry) Donaldson and Barbara (Earl)
Williams all of Barnwell, SC and Antonio Donaldson of Columbia, SC;
five step-children, Karen Samone Donaldson, Tyquan Donaldson, Shalayer Dicks and Arnesha Dicks; ten step-grandchildren; two nephews,
Jamaal Nyjah Odom of Orangeburg, SC and Damien Michael Campbell
of Lexington, SC; four cousins, Rodney and Michael Kearse of Blackville,
SC, Myra Odom of Denmark, SC and Otisa Odom of Denmark, SC;
a step-sister, Michelle Perkins of Detroit, MI as well as a host of other
relatives and friends.
