Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Dash's Funeral Home Chapel (Orangeburg). The public will view on the day of the service beginning at 12:00 noon until the hour of the service. Interment services will follow immediately at Edisto Fork United Methodist Church Cemetery, Cope, South Carolina. Reverend Hayes T. Gainey will officiate. Thelma (Mickey) Pough-Hallmon, the daughter of the late James "Peter" and Maggie Pough was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina on February 23, 1939. God chose Thursday, January 23, 2014, as the official date of entrance in Heaven for our beloved Thelma. "Mickey" as she was affectionately known , was educated in Orangeburg, South Carolina public school system. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of True Light Baptist Church. She relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the 1960's, where she resided in the same neighborhood for over forty years. She loved to laugh and to help others. Mickey loved people and was lovingly called, "Mom" by many. She enjoyed playing card games and spending time with her family. Those who preceded her in death are: one sister, Dorothy Dantzler; three brothers, Joseph, James and Earl, Sr. and two sisters-in-law, Bernice and Mary. Mickey leaves to cherish her memory: her loving significant other, Leroy McKnight; three devoted daughters, Linda (Ron), Fances (Melvin) and Dorothea (Brian); three admiring sisters, Margaret (Mack) Govan, Hattie (Ernest) Evans and Shirley Pough all of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; two dedicated brothers, Bobbie (Shirley) and Andrew (Ethel); her brother-in-law, Sam; sister- in-law, Octavia; ten adoring grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a hearty host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives, friends and loved ones.
